One year ago today I got engaged to my best friend.
Today is such a bittersweet day (both happy&sad)
Here are the reasonings.
Sad Because.....
If things wouldnt have been so complicated with Cameron working for my uncle, today would have been the day we got married.
After he put the ring on my finger we had talked about getting married exactly one year from the day we got engaged...which brings us to today, August 6, 2011.
The other night we were talking about how we would have been getting married this weekend if my Uncle wouldnt have a stick up his ass and it was kind of sad. We both would have absolutely loooved saying "I do" to each other this weekend.
Happy Because.....
We are engaged :)
Yes we are doing thing a little backwards but it is what works for us right now. With the situation we are in. We have a puppy and just bought our first house. We are basically playing the roll as husband and wife without the paperwork. Not alot of people agree with our life style or how we are living it and all I have to say to that is shove it. I am happy and that is all that matters.
Anyways...
Everyone says "Just go to Vegas or to the court house and not tell anyone!"
Ummm thanks but no thanks.
Every girl dreams of their wedding growing up - I didnt picture mine being in a court house or in a little chapel in Vegas.
That idea is for some girls but I'm not one of them.
My wedding dress that I found a week after we got engaged his farrr to gorgeous for either of those. And why would I run off and get married when I wouldnt even be able to change my last name right now? That is one of the funnest things about marriage is taking on your partners last name. If I cant do that - then why go get married in a set up that I dont want.
