[The Pregnancy Story]

Prepare for a chapter book.

It was about two weeks before my sweet husbands birthday (December 19th).
And I was late...
So I decided to go buy a pregnancy test.

Low and behold, it came out negative.
We weren't really "trying" but I remember being extremely bummed to only see one pink line.

this may be to much information - so I am sorry.
but I am SUPER regular.
I have never been late so of coarse I was suspicious.

I would come home and get into bed at 7pm and sleep all night long.
I figured I had just over done it with finals/working out and it was nothing.
I mean, the pregnancy test said so, right?

A couple more days had gone by with still no sign of Aunt Flow.
I remember Cameron and I were at the gym and I was so exhausted.
I was seriously falling asleep while working out - I then told him that I still hadn't started and he went back to the negative pregnancy test - but I still wasn't convinced.

I know by body better than anyone and this was completely out of the norm for me.

The next day at work without telling Cameron,
I decided to call my OBGYN to tell her my symptoms because if I WASNT pregnant, I wanted to figure out what was wrong with me.

Plus, we were going out with some friends that weekend and I wanted to cancel out pregnancy before I drank anything.
Needless to say, the nurse was POSTIVE that I wasn't pregnant.
She had told me to come in, in a couple of weeks and they would give me a shot to "jump start" my period.

[what am I? a car?!]

Long[er] story short -
I had her call in some blood work for me & I went from there.
I went on my lunch break to get blood drawn and then lived the LONGEST afternoon of my entire life.

Around 5pm that night I was in helping a project manager with a big proposal going out and my phone rang....my heart stopped....and I ran out of his office faster then a person getting chased by a lion.

When I answered the phone -
I was shaking, nervous, felt like I could pass out at any moment and then that's when I got the news....

"Well Kylie, your suspicion was correct - you are pregnant! Congrats!"

I then wanted to be like "I TOLD YOU! YOU IDIOT!"

But I bit my tongue hahaha.

When I hung up the phone, my eyes filled with tears and I couldn't stop smiling.
I then grabbed all of my things and ran out to my car and prepared myself to get stuck in traffic.
I cried the whole way home (happy tears of coarse).
I sucked it up enough to call Cameron to tell him that I had a surprise for him for his truck (not really), but to let me run downstairs and change first because it had been an extremely long day - he thought it was one of those reindeer kits that practically turns your car into one of Santa's helpers.

Anyways -
I got home, ran downstairs and grabbed a package I ordered several months back.
Inside the package was two shirts for our dogs that said "The baby did it!" - I immediately put them on and it went from there.

Now I know I said we weren't really trying & I mean it.
I had bought those shirts awhile back because Cameron and I had always hoped that our pregnancy would just happen and I wanted to be prepared.

When I opened our bedroom door the dogs ran upstairs and I followed right behind them.
With my luck, of coarse Cameron didn't acknowledge that our dogs were wearing clothes.

I remember being like "CAMERON WHAT DOES THEIR SHIRTS SAY?!"
And he finally stopped watching his show to chase them down -
When he grabbed ahold of them and read what they said, his face was PRICELESS!

He was like "WHAT THE HECK?!"

(I am sitting there crying some more)

"ARE WE PREGNANT?!?!?!?!"

I yelled "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And then his water works began!
It turned into a big crying, laughing smiling fest - we both couldn't believe it.
Cameron then told me that this was by far the best birthday present he could have ever received.

From there it was off to tell my family.
We left the shirts on the dogs and again when we walked in the door -
No one acknowledged the dogs (wtf!).

Mom was upstairs,
And my dad and two brothers were downstairs (I don't know how I caught them all being home at the same time - luck was with me).

After saying "What does their shirts say?!"
My brother Jordan yells "OMG! ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"

If you guessed that I started crying again, you are correct hahaha.
My dad then yelled - almost angry - "WHAT?! DOES YOUR MOM KNOW?!" hahahaha.

Ladies and gents,
My mom has been requesting a grandbaby for quite some time now so we knew her reaction would be priceless.

When she finally made her way down we AGAIN had to ask her what the dogs shirts say and when she read "The baby did it!" she was like "OH MY GOSH! ARE WE PREGNANT!" and when I started crying AGAIN and saying yes - she began jumping up and down (literally) bawling her eyes out.

It was definitely a moment I will NEVER forget.
August 28th cant come soon enough <3
