[Lap Top]

Sooo apparently laptops are known to last only 3-4 years. I wish I would have know that before I dropped $2000 dollars on mine. (Correction: Before my lovely parents dropped $2000 dollars on my graduation gift from high school.) And with the little brother graduating last week that means I have now been graduated for 3 years and thats exactly how old my good ol lap top is and it quit on us the other night. You would turn it on and then 2 seconds later it would shut off. We repeated this over and over again and we got the same outcome each and every time. :(

[Rewind]

A year or so ago my hard drive crashed and I lost EVERYTHING! I am a picture taker and take pictures everywhere we go! Even ask Cameron - he gets sick of it sometimes hahaha. So when my hard drive crashed I was super depressed because I lost all of our memories....

So the other night when I got off work Cameron and I took my lap top in to get it looked at to see if we could save anything because we didnt know what was going on. We get to the store and have the geek squad guy look at it and what do you know...it turns on for him no problem and it stays on...

I look at Cameron and said "GET ME A USB DRIVE THING STAT!"

We ran and grab the biggest one we could find so I could hurry up and transfer all of my pictures. As we are sitting there trying to open it I started feeling sense of relief because I was going to be able to get all of my pictures! We finally get it open - plug it in the computer - click on all of my different picture folders - go to drag them to the USB drive and then BAM....It shuts off :( :( :( :( And it wouldnt turn back on for the life of us... So we decided we were going to go to the gym and do a quit work out and then we went back to the store to see if it would magically turn on for us...And of coarse it didnt.

So the guy told us we could buy this special thing for $75 bucks and then put my old hard drive in it and transfer my pictures to that from our desk top computer. And the best part about it was that when we were done with the product we could return it for a full refund - so to us that made total sense because if we had Best Buy do it, they would charge us $100 dollars for a data transfer.
The guy made the $75 dollar piece sounds super easy so we decided to go with that! I mean come on - if we could use it then return it for a full refund why wouldnt we do that?!?!?!
So we buy the piece and head home to do the transfer. Needless to say it WASNT easy. Not even the slighest bit - it took us 3 hours to figure it out and when it was all said and done and we got into the hard drive of my broken lap top NOTHING was there! I immediatly started to cry...I had JUST uploaded a ton of pictures. And now they werent showing up.

Cameron felt awful and tried making me feel better by telling me he was sure they were still on there and that we would just return the product and pay best buy to do it. (Although it really didnt help, I love him for his efforts hahaha)
When we decided we were just going to have Best Buy do it I jumped in the shower and cried some more and when I got out it was 10:30pm (we still hadnt eatin dinner) and Cameron had my Tuesday night show that I ALWAYS watch and hate to miss, paused and a bowl of cereal that I told him earlier that sounded good.
He told me to get dressed and to sit down and relax and watch 16 and pregnant hahaha. I really am so lucky to have him...even when I am superrrr down in the dumps he always finds a way to make me smile.
So long story short...
Cameron took the laptop back into Best Buy yesterday afternoon to get it looked at and the hard drive was COMPLETELY empty :( Therefore I lost all of our pictures.

I most definetly learned my lesson on a couple of things. And I will share them with you :)
1. ALWAYS save your pictures to something OTHER then your computer after uploading them.
2. DONT buy the most expensive lap top in the store because you think it will last, and it wont!

Kylie! I totally feel you girly!! That sounds exactly like my story.. I bought my laptop right after graduating and last October, my harddrive CRASHED and BURNED. :( I was SO sad! I cried and it would turn on but just to a black screen. Best buy said I lost everything. So I just bought a new harddrive for like 75 bucks. It was the suckiest thing ever! I try not to think about all the memories/pictures I lost on that stupid (barely 2 1/2 year old) computer. Mitch and I have been dating since 2006 and I also am obsessed with taking pics haha so DANG IT I hate technology sometimes. Sometimes I wish I went back to just printing them all out.
